Drinking Water Source Protection (SP) is a resource planning process that aims to keep sources of drinking water safe and usable.The Clean Water Act, 2006, came into effect in July 2007 and requires Source Protection Plans to be developed for watersheds in Ontario. Regulations also set out requirements for the Source Protection Committee and give timelines for the preparation of the terms of reference and Assessment Report.
